I am conducting research on bio-based materials, spanning from fundamental studies to applied developments.
My academic background includes doctoral research on cell wall formation using plant cells, giving me a solid understanding of plant cell biology and cellulose-based materials.
I have also studied plant cell wall-degrading enzymes and have experience in collaborative research with both research institutions and companies.

Recently, my focus has shifted toward mycelium-based materials.
I have established a Mushroom Material Technology Research Consortium and am actively promoting information exchange and collaboration with mushroom production companies and chemical manufacturers.
I am also deepening collaborations with international researchers, particularly in Finland and South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, I am working on a JSPS Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists project titled:
“Microscopic Analysis of Hydrophobin Localization to Elucidate the Mechanism of Basidiomycete Mycelium Formation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another ongoing project involves research on bacterial cellulose produced by thermophilic chemoautotrophic bacteria, conducted at Nakabusa Onsen in Nagano \u2668\ud83e\udda0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microscopy is one of my specialties, with particular expertise in confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM).
I am comfortable working with a wide variety of samples \u2014 you name it \u2014 and I am skilled in microtome operation.
I have experience culturing animal cells, plant cells, E. coli, and Acetobacter species.
Recently, I have also started exploring experiments using Raman microscopy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
