お久しぶりの更新です！
今年度から少し環境が変わり、自室をラボ化する必要性が出たため、そのセットアップに追われていました。さらに、本業であるARIM（マテリアル先端リサーチインフラ）の繁忙期も重なり、ここ最近はとにかくドタバタとした日々を過ごしておりました。
色々と記録に残しておきたい出来事があったのですが、そちらは追々思い出したら書いていこうと思います。
今回は、直近で行ってきた韓国への出張レポートをお届けします！
🍄 「2026年度韓国きのこ学会春季大会」で依頼講演
5月28日〜29日の2日間、韓国・光州（クァンジュ）で開催された「2026年度韓国きのこ学会春季大会」にて、依頼講演をさせていただきました。
学会では、AIを活用した研究開発や、キノコ由来の材料に関する新しい知見をたくさん得ることができました。また、現地での素敵な繋がりもたくさん増え、大変有意義で刺激的な時間となりました。
このような貴重な機会をいただき、関係者の皆様には誠に感謝申し上げます！

🏫 朝鮮大学校（Chosun University）のShin先生のラボを訪問
学会終了後は6月1日まで光州に滞在し、Chosun University（朝鮮大学校）のHyun-Jae Shin先生のラボを訪問させていただきました。

Shin先生はとにかくパワフルな方！韓国きのこ学会の会長を務められながら、学務や研究はもちろん、エッセイを執筆して出版されたり、最近ではYouTubeチャンネルも開設されたりと、精力的に活動されています。
今回の訪問では、今後の共同研究に向けたディスカッションを行うことができ、非常に充実した交流となりました。また、少し学生さんに実験のレクチャーも行いました。それにしても、大学の敷地がとにかく広大で圧倒されました…！
🥬 美食とアートの街、光州（クァンジュ）を満喫！
初めて訪れた光州は、とにかくご飯が美味しい街でした！ 豊かな自然に囲まれつつも、街中にはたくさんのアトリエやお洒落なカフェが溢れていて、本当に素敵な場所です。

💡 Blog Post (English Version)
Hello everyone, it’s been a while since my last update!
Since the start of this academic year, my environment has shifted a bit, and I found myself needing to set up a lab space right inside my own room. Between getting that set up and hitting the peak busy season for my main work with ARIM (Materials Advanced Research Infrastructure), things have been incredibly hectic lately.
There are so many things I’ve been meaning to write down as a record, but I’ll save those for later as they come back to me.
For today, I’m excited to share a report from my recent business trip to South Korea!
🍄 Invited Lecture at the 2026 KSMS Spring Meeting
From May 28th to 29th, I had the wonderful honor of giving an invited lecture at the 2026 Spring Meeting of the Korean Society for Mushroom Science, held in Gwangju, South Korea.
During the conference, I gained so many fresh insights into AI-driven research and development, as well as new findings regarding mushroom-derived materials. It was an incredibly meaningful and stimulating experience, made even better by the wonderful new connections I was able to make.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved for providing me with such a precious opportunity!
🏫 Visiting Prof. Shin’s Lab at Chosun University
After the conference concluded, I stayed in Gwangju until June 1st to visit the laboratory of Prof. Hyun-Jae Shin at Chosun University.

Prof. Shin is an incredibly energetic and powerful person! While serving as the president of the Korean Society for Mushroom Science, he balances his academic duties and research with writing and publishing essays. On top of that, he even launched his own YouTube channel recently.
During my visit, we had some deeply engaging discussions regarding future collaborative research, making it a truly rewarding exchange. I must say, I was also absolutely blown away by just how massive the university campus is!
🥬 Enjoying Gwangju: A City of Gastronomy and Art
This was my very first time visiting Gwangju, and it is safe to say the food there is absolutely delicious! Surrounded by beautiful nature, the city is also brimming with numerous art studios and trendy, stylish cafes—it is truly a wonderful place.

I will definitely keep working hard on my research back home in Japan so that I can visit South Korea again soon!
