私は、プロダクトとして広く利用される素材開発を進める一方で、”一点物”のアート作品にも大きな価値を感じています。
個人的に水彩画教室に通っていることもあり、アートとサイエンスのコラボレーションに強い興味があるのです。
水彩画の画材にはバイオベース材料、すなわち「紙」を使います。
紙の種類によって、にじみの広がりやすさ、乾いたあとの上塗りのしやすさ、塩の効きやすさなど色々と表現が変わってきます。
なので、人によってはお気に入りの紙があったりします。（私は、ランプライトとかウォーターフォードが好きです）
このように素材そのものが持つ手触りや質感を感じながら絵を描く時間は心を豊かにしてくれます。一方で、科学的な背景も気になったり、特に紙を構成する繊維や添加剤などなど。
私は、きのこ由来の素材を研究していますが、海外では、菌糸材料を用いたインスタレーション作品が数多く発表され、人々の感性や好奇心を強く刺激しています。
ぐぬぬ。なんだか、うらやましいぞ。見に行ってみたいなと思うこともしばしば。
このような背景から、私自身も、日本らしい視点や文化背景を取り入れた作品をつくりたいと企てております！ちょこちょことアンテナを貼りつつ動き回っております。

まだまだ試作段階で、これから趣味的に研究を進める予定です。
ですので、これらの素材に関しては、ほとんど家で探求しています。
感性に触れる素材を通じて、観る人に「これは何だ？」という興味を抱かせ、バイオベース材料やきのこ由来素材の存在を知ってもらうこと、そしてサーキュラーバイオエコノミーの普及活動が目標です。
そのために、自身で創作活動をしつつも、インスタレーション的な表現にも挑戦したいと考えており、芸大やアート分野で活動する方々とのつながりを広げていきたいと思っております。
アートコラボレーションの募集（緩募）
きのこ由来素材（きのこパルプ、廃菌床パルプなど）を活用したアート作品の制作にご関心のあるアーティスト・デザイナーの方を探しています。
これらの素材は、木材パルプとは異なる質感を持ち、紙状にも紙粘土状にも加工可能です。バイオベース材料を広く知っていただくため、一点物の作品やインスタレーションなど、幅広い表現を歓迎します。
まずはお話しやアイデア交換から始められればと考えています。
芸術大学やアート系の方、またそのような活動をしている知人をご紹介いただける方も、ぜひご連絡ください。日本らしさを追求したい気持ちはありますが、国内外問わずコラボしたいと考えていますのでどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

Art and Bio-based Materials
I am working on developing materials that can be widely used as products, while at the same time I also place great value on creating “one-of-a-kind” art pieces.
Personally, I attend a watercolor painting class, and I have a strong interest in art–science collaborations. In watercolor painting, the medium is bio-based material—namely, paper. Depending on the type of paper, the effects vary: how widely the colors bleed, how easy it is to layer paint once it has dried, how well salt effects work, and so on. Because of this, many artists have their favorite papers. (Personally, I like Lamplight and Waterford.)
Spending time painting while feeling the texture and tactility of the material itself enriches my mind. At the same time, I can’t help but wonder about the scientific aspects—particularly the fibers and additives that make up the paper.
Interest in Mushroom-derived Materials
My own research focuses on mushroom-derived materials. Overseas, many installation artworks using mycelium-based materials have been exhibited, capturing people’s senses and curiosity. I must admit, I sometimes feel a twinge of envy—part of me really wants to go and see them.
Against this backdrop, I myself am also plotting to create works that incorporate a distinctly Japanese perspective and cultural context.
As an experiment, I’ve been making materials related to mushrooms. These are still in the prototype stage, and I plan to continue developing them more as a personal, hobby-like line of research. For now, most of this exploration takes place at home.
My Goal
Through materials that touch the senses, my goal is to spark curiosity in viewers—making them wonder, “What is this?”—while raising awareness of bio-based and mushroom-derived materials, and promoting the idea of a circular bio-economy.
To achieve this, I hope to pursue my own creative practice while also experimenting with installation-style expressions, and to expand connections with people active in art universities and the broader art world.
Call for Art Collaborations
I am looking for artists and designers interested in creating artworks using mushroom-derived materials such as mushroom pulp and mushroom bed pulp (pulp made from the substrate left after harvesting mushrooms).
These materials have a texture different from wood pulp and can be processed into paper-like sheets or molded like paper clay.
To raise awareness of bio-based materials, I welcome a wide range of expressions, from one-of-a-kind art pieces to large-scale installations.
I would be happy to start with a conversation or an exchange of ideas.

While I have a strong desire to incorporate Japanese cultural elements, this call is open to collaborators from both Japan and abroad, regardless of nationality.
